Btw, can't help with the Finnish, sorry - give me any Germanic, Romance or Slavonic language and I have a vague chance of making something out, but no chance with an Ugric language like Finnish or Hungarian unless it's one of a few specific words that I've picked up from the natives - and none of those words have anything to do with tennis!
Yeah, I can only do the Latin based languages I'm afraid so anything else is out (except Greek which I can guess at).
Shame Lee couldn't qualify. I hope he gets a lucky loser place.
Good luck to Josh this week, it is a bit odd that he and Ross aren't in the doubles though, unless Ross wanted to play somewhere else...is he?

QR3: (q5) Lee Childs WR 393 lost to (q4) Kamil Capkovic (SVK) WR 375 by 4 & 4
A big chance missed for Lee. :( He's 2nd in line for a LL place but three points have gone begging and two of the qualifiers were due to face WCs in R1 of the main draw.
Don't think he'll get the LL spot.
Is it right that Josh and Ross couldn't get an SE because Eckental was 25k as compared to Helsinki's 50k?

Ross got offered a wildcard for Sunderland. I guess that he must still be partly focussing on his singles career as otherwise he'd surely have had a go at the doubles here with Josh after their title last week. They'd have got a SE as 25K+H challengers have the same ranking points available as 50Ks
Lee CHILDS (GBR)/Frederik NIELSEN (DEN) vs Jasper SMIT (NED)/Martijn VAN HAASTEREN (NED)
Any chance of some score updates today on the Goodall match from your friends in Finland, Drew ?
It's a great draw for Josh, Vico may be ranked over 50 places higher at 200 but he's on a 4 match losing streak [we're not counting his win over Kevin McDuffee last week] and he's only won a handful of matches since July. He's won rd1 matches in Binghamton, Kolding and Rennes but has lost in rd1 in Aachen, Nottingham, Mons, Grenoble, Orleans and Segovia. Mackin hammered him 2 and 3 in Nottingham.
According to Mike Raphael, Vico has a great serve. When he played Boggo in Kolding, Vico's serve kept him in the match until the breakers. Vico's main weakness is his forehand, he's pretty gifted with his backhand, has the ability to create some amazing angles.
