And likewise here's the Telegraph article about how winning junior WImbly (and doing well in juniors in general) can be a curse:

www.telegraph.co.uk/tennis/2018/07/09/winning-wimbledon-junior-title-can-blessing-might-curse-no/

Interesting that previous Wimbly junior winner, Lertcheewakarn, is now training to be a police officer.

I think paulisi said, quite rightly, on one of the threads that although there is very little transparency in funding, if you want to know who's part of the 'in' crowd, look at who gets selected to go on the training camps.

Nothing wrong at all as such in that given we so often criticise the LTA for concentrating on too few too soon.

No idea how many of these are already the 'in' crowd they have narrowed down to or how many may be fliers that you know, let's have more of a look at, they might have something.

I found this interesting:

www.helloasso.com/associations/athletic-tennis-performance/collectes/projet-haut-niveau-elisa-rohrbach-saison-2023

Elisa Rohrbach in one of the top 14 year-olds in France

Sporting programme :

13H/week - tennis
5H/week - physical training
1H30/week - other sport

School :

Nationally accredited public home schooling programme
12H/week - special extra home tuition

Médical :

1 session a week - physio
1 session a week - osteopath.

Budget season 2023 = Euros 80000.

Breakdown:

tennis coaching: 20000.
physical training: 10000.
School: 5000.
Tournaments: 20000.
Academy training: 10000.
Admin, travel, etc: 15000

I've a few questions - which I probably can't find the answer to and it's not really that important - but it's quite interesting....
