HG has 15-30 on the Boggo serve. C'mon Alex, big serves needed

Once again Alex proves he hasn't got the bottle to make it. Broken when serving to stay in both sets againt a player about 300 places beow him. Poor show Alex, just proves why he's never broken the top 100 and why John Lloyd doesn't pick him for Davis Cup.

Alex had game points in both those service games where he was broken, tossed both away with errors

I think that's a little harsh John. He came back to beat Cilic this week, winning in a 3rd set tiebreak and in this game he saved match points. He's won a lot of 3 setters recently.

HG may be ranked 300 places lower but he's been playing way above himself this week, beating Norman, Labadze quite easily and now Boggo. He didn't get many 1st serves in but got himself out of trouble with the serve when he needed to and Alex was always hanging on in that last set with HG's power from the baseline.

Alex wasn't at his best today, just a shame he wasn't able to grind out a win. Still it's been a good win, another quarter-final. On to Bratislava

Shed man is right....Alex not at his best....tatically all wrong...time after time he played half or 3/4 length shots to JHGs FH and got pasted...the odd time he went to the BH more often than not he took the point....so onto Bratislava

Alex now will move up a couple of places to 119

If he makes the quarters next week, that could move him up into the top 110 I reckon

Thats just poor from Alex. If he wants to break the top 100 he has to beat these sort of people when these sort of points are on offer.
