RE: Shewsbury challenger

@ LTA.

I'm sure Macca won, I spoke to Mike raphael and he said they both won and were playing each other so cant imagine he got it wrong!!

Thanks for clarifying the result, Toby. I was a bit worried for a while.

Oh no! Bloomers withdrew because of a virus related illness.

Apparently someone has rang them up and Mackin did lose.

This is most peculiar, but Mackin must have won.

Mike will have been courtside watching the match so he must know !!! Boggo also told me that he was playing Mackin in rd2 and Amy Gaulton [the main LTA official at the challenger this week], told me that he won 4 and 3. She gets the results directly from the umpire so it must be correct

There must have been a complete mix-up with the guy at the desk, getting the names muddled up and sending the wrong winners to the ATP and putting wrong stuff on the LTA results page. When the guys from MTF rang up, they must have got the same person.

Probably the one who gave me the phone number for the local furniture shop rather than the one for Amy Gaulton.

He must be more interested in getting his new sofa than the tennis

Not the way Richard would have liked his season to end, he had a decent chance of making the quarters here.

M-j-d, do you know any more on this ?

Maybe, it's something which has been giving him problems for a few weeks, that could explain the unexpectedly heavy defeat to Andre Sa in the States.

Quite enjoying the argument on MTF.

Slabba/Allinson won their doubles match - 63 26 10-7.

It's going to be strange on Wednesday, when Alex goes out on court and sees both Mackin & Popp there warming up - looks like they both think they won......

Wonder if any of these East European bookies have paid out on a Mackin win? Or on a Popp win?

Very good point, the LTA could be getting their arses sued off!
