Are you sure you've booked the right tickets ! Last time I heard, the Davis Cup tie was in April Have you booked tickets for the Wrexham challenger final weekend instead by mistake ?
there's been quite a few withdrawals, and still time for some more!
from the original list:
Shrewbury: (2 SE spots to be cleared) OUT: Chiudinelli, Del Potro, Wang, Waske (and Haehnel, Tsonga, Tourte, Balleret, M.Lee, Stoppini, Vacek from ALT) IN: Cipolla, Lacko, Lisnard, T.Popp NEXT: Robert, Guez, Goodall, Bopanna, Chardy, Adaktusson, Meffert, Mackin
so josh should be able to get in without using up a WC, and maybe jonny can get an SE if he gets through to the semis! problem is then, there's not actually many deserving players left to actually give a WC to!
yeah i agree slabba should get one after missing out last time. i reckon jamie d will get one too purely based on his ranking (though clearly pointless if this is the case!)
But Hutchins will be playing Challenger doubles next year. Surely it would be a waste even if he did manage to win a round?
I think that it'll be better if Evans got a point and used it for getting seeded at Futures qualies.
You have a fair point with Rushby.

So Hutchins is at the Challengers anyway. Wouldn't it be nice if he had enough points to enter singles or qualies as well as just becoming the next full time British doubles player...
But it is highly unlikely that Hutchins will qualify for Challengers. And as time goes, he and Josh will go for bigger Challengers and even Tour events.
This year, Hutchins has attempted Challenger qualies on six occasions. He has managed a first round win only twice, both of those two wins were against unranked players. Can he be heralded as a great prospect singles wise?
I think that Cox has a greater chance of getting a win with a wild card than Hutchins has.
Alan is 1st Alt with 1 SE spot to be cleared but ...
I assume Jonny will get the SE now that he has reached the semis in Dnepro.
Martin Lee has withdrawn.
The obvious WCs, since Jamie Baker has scraped into the Naples (USA) main draw, are Alan (if he doesn't scrape in by 9 pm on Saturday, which I assume is the cut-off here), Aucks and Lee Childs.
Could Greg have asked for a WC here? (I doubt it, but just a thought ...)
The only other players in the top 800 who will still have moved up since the start of this year when next week's rankings come out are Morgan Phillips (up 130+ but seems to have disappeared the last couple of weeks), Ross Hutchins (up 50+), Ian Flanagan (up 300+) and Rushby (up 50+) and Eaton (up 400+ but probably still in Australia) ...

it is a bit worrying to see such a lack of obvious candidates for the WCs!
with martin lee and matt smith injured and mark h, david s and arvs seemingly retired, there is a big gap to the next best players, and no-one breaking through into the top 500 really!
