I was all excited by that until I read the Bogdanivoc targets/threats thread and saw he was defending 50 points this week. Still - it's better to launch 2007 from the 120s than the 130s.
He has also got another 110 to defend b4 the end of feburray, but he is playing well at the moment so hopefully he can keep the level he has been at recently and defending them shouldnt be to hard, they are only in 2 events and next year hopfully he can play a lot more in the same time period.
if it works out well, and some good results come in the pre ao/ao events then b4 the next two challenger win points come up he can get into some more atp's DE.

Whoa!! "110 points in two months shouldnt be too hard!!"
If it was that easy he'd already be in top 100.
He averages over the last 11 months 34 points a month, so if he maintains his current form he will drop about 40 points by next February, not disastrous, but still need recovering. His big opportunity will come in the summer when (given that he's such a good grass court player) he has very little t defend in the Grass court season, i expect him to end the grass court season in the top 100, any time before that weould be a great bonus.
Interestingly given the general consensus that he's not been in great nick recently, he has actually earned about 110 points in the last 2 months, way ahead of his average for the year, and proof that when you take out the natural ups and downs he is still improving and his upward curve over the course of the last 2 - 2 1/2 years has been a pretty consistent one, even though we are naturally, impatient for it to be quicker.
true its a lot to defend, but it is only 2 events, as you have pointed out during this indoor season he has earnt that, there is no reason why he cant again in the next indoor sesion. he only played those 2 events, and picked up the injury during the bergamo final which ment he missed the rest of the indoor season, and all of march really. excluing this event and the 5 next weekhe only has that 110 untill 10th april, thats 4 months of events!! so i thin overall he has a good chance to gain them back and improve.

Looking at the other players in the 110-130 range most of them have got plenty of points in grand slam and masters events where Boggo has got only 5 in total. If he can maintain his current level in challengers and get past the first round in a grand slam or two then that will give him the points he needs to get a two-figure ranking. He's not going to get a direct entry into the AO but he'll be a high seed in qualifying; a lucky draw there could make a huge difference to his year.

Yes think that 4 months is realistic , and he's not got a lot to defend over the summer, just think it's expecting a lot to get them all defended by end of Feb.
You are right to say its only 2 challengers but the point is it's a lot to ask to win all these events. He has had a good week this week with a decent draw, but if he was to lose this week he's only got 22 points, it's a long way to defend 160 over 2-3 months.
I have no doubt Boggo will get back up to this level and hopefully beyond, but realistic expectations need to be set to keep people's feet on the ground.
Anyway after a couple of tough weeks of draws he's looking good this week, lets hope he can take it all the way to the BIG 5 0 !
