I don't have particularly high hopes of a Brit reaching the latter stages here as all the players who we'd normally be expecting to be contenders for the title, will be in Australia.
Claire Peterzan is no 4 on the entry list, Kirsty Woolley and Olivia Scarfi have also made the cut. Yasmin Clarke needs 1 more withdrawal otherwise she'll be the top seed in qualifying
Wildcards have gone to Samantha Vickers, Stephanie Cornish, Hannah James and Laura Slater.
Yasmin Clarke made the main draw when the SE places were removed.
Qualifying: - Good to see Anna Smith and Julia Bone entered, I reckon they can do some real damage in this tournament. A couple of good runs could see Anna close to the top 450 by the end of the year.

The big news was by far and away Naomi Broady's shock win over Anna Smith. Anna must be kicking herself, she surely would have had at least 1 match point in that 2nd set. Still, big congratulations to Naomi, that's a fantastic win from her, probably the best of her career by some way
Naomi is very tall, she's got some big shots from the back of the court but has struggled in the past with consistency. She's now starting to find more consistency from the baseline and that's leading to good results
