Good news from teletext on itv1, they informed the 'fans' about the results down under and mentioning an all brit QF! Plus it main headlines on the tennis section for a change!
Fantastic win for Naomi Cavaday, to defeat a player ranked over 100 places higher so comprehensively is highly impressive especially on a slow surface. She really is an all-court player.
Great to see Mel getting revenge over Matic, I had a feeling she would do as the defeat in August was largely due to exhaustion.
Georgie did well to win a set off a top 250 player, hopefully she can continue her great form next week. How many points does she need to make the top 350 ?
Naomi and Mel have never played before. I think Naomi will win, from results so far, it looks as though she's in better form than Mel.

That's great to hear, they have mentioned challengers in the past but usually only when a Brit has won one. Maybe they're going to start focusing more on how the Brits in the lower echelons of the game are doing.
Also, does anyone know if Naomi's switched coaches and is now working on a permanent basis with Lucie Ahl ? Or is she still working with James Trotman and she's just working with Lucie temporarily for this tour ?
Apparently Katie O'Brien left Lucie's squad earlier this year so maybe that's created a vacancy for Naomi.
Looks like experience was the factor in this QF. Though it was all to play for all in the final set, probably came down to one break. Good for South to build up momentum for the AO qualies (i hope!) Well done to Cavaday to maintaining consistency in 25k Hopefully she will go one better next week if she qualfies/main draw acceptance.
