Auckland got a wildcard here because he plays league tennis for the local team. He also won the doubles title here in 2005.
20 year old Stakhovsky is ranked 159. He and Auckland have played once before. James won 6-4, 6-2 in rd2 of the 2004 Togliatti challenger.
Stakhovsky's 2006 highlights have been reaching two challenger semis. Since his two singles defeats against GB in the Davis Cup, he's had mixed results. He lost in rd2 of Grenoble, qualified for ATP Metz - losing to Gasquet in rd1, qualified for ATP Moscow and beat Tursunov before losing to Clement in 3 sets in rd2 but lost in qualies for ATP St Petersburg last week.
He's got a good serve, a big forehand and a very elegant single-handed backhand. However, he's pretty erratic. Given that this match is indoors, I think Aucks will win in straights.
Aucks all in blue, Stakh all in white. Even I can cope with this though they'd better not do a sneaky change of clothing halfway through just to catch me out!

by the way, for those of you without the live feed, 'centre' court actually means the right hand court, nearest the two seats at the edge of the warehouse. 'Court 1' lies two feet away on the left!
