A great win for Edward, who got a very nice draw in R1 for his troubles ...
R1: Andrew Kennaugh WR 757 v (3) Adam Feeney (AUS) WR 359 R1: Chris Eaton WR 787 v James Cerretani (USA) WR 656 R1: (Q) Edward Corrie UNR v (Q) Nick Hew (AUS) UNR R1: Myles Blake WR 832 v (Q) Yan Bai (CHN) WR 1143
Reasonable draws for all of the Brits except Andrew.
As usual (it seems), Andrew is due to play on Tuesday, the rest don't start until Wednesday.

Great run from Ed Corrie again! Bodes well for British grass court futures next year. He's obviously good on this surface!
He's also got the best main draw draw!
I think Blake played junior wimby acouple of times so may be more succesful on grass than hard. Its been a real slog for these young Brits down under. Hopefully they can get some points this week...
I'd say it bodes well for the indoor circuit aswell next year, Ed seems to have a great game for fast surfaces. He beat Colin Fleming in straight sets in the Cardiff Challenger indoors, earlier this year. I can see him into the top 1000 by next June.
Very convincing wins in qualifying, especially beating the 2nd seed like that. He's got a great chance to earn his 2nd point now. His rd1 opponent, Nick Hew lost in qualifying to Haydn Lewis last week. Ed beat Lewis in straight sets in rd1 in the main draw.
Can't see any further than a straight sets defeat for Kennaugh. Feeney has made 4 finals and 4 semis in futures this year and hammered Kennaugh 2 and 0 in September. Kennaugh's best surface is grass but unfortunately grass is also Feeney's fav surface.
Chris has been steadily clocking up the ranking points down under, but Cerretani will be tough as he has such a big serve. He beat Andy Kennaugh 7-5, 6-0 earlier this month and reached a futures final in Greece in May, losing to Jonny Marray.
Blake had his best junior result at Wimbledon, he made rd3 before losing to eventual champion Jeremy Chardy in 2005. He could do with getting a point here, and has an excellent draw, he hasn't won a singles match since August. Myles is double-handed on both sides and he says that his favourite surface is clay !!!

Pretty much expected though, the way Feeney's been playing of late
Mixed news in doubles:
Eaton and Kennaugh won in two tiebreaks. Corrie and Aussie O'Neil lost to the 2nd seeds, 10-5 in a champions tiebreak. Myles Blake partnered Aussie Andrew Roberts, they lost 2 and 4 to the top seeds
All british eyes trained on Court 15 for Wednesdays play! Its a pommie revolution.
(Ed Corrie plays on another court but other than that there's Brits in every match!)
If Corrie and partner took the second seeds in doubles to a CTB then Kennaugh and Eaton must stand a fairly good chance of reaching the semis! It is grass after all!
R2: (Q) Edward Corrie UNR lost to (8) Philip Stolt (USA) WR 549 by 3-6 6-3 6-4
Edward did brilliantly to take the first set off Stolt but couldn't quite finish him off. A very good performance though, which suggests that getting his first ranking points in these two tournaments has given him added confidence.

Great effort from Ed to take a set Stolt has a massive serve which I imagine is extremely difficult to break on grass so Ed did well to push him so close.
I reckon that Ed's ranking will be now into the 1400s.
It looks like the Australia futures have now finished for 2006 so I wonder where Kennaugh, Eaton, Blake and Corrie will head next. Maybe back to Britain for the two futures.
