3-0 up now. the shed beckons, and probably at this monment umf is blissfully unaware :)

shame for Alex's ranking tho..... but I think the sacrifice is worthwhile

no i agree there, normally i hate seeing players over take alex, but of course there is the expection to make the rule. I dont think even Alex will mind in this case.

Arn't we due a big frost tonight? Best get the termal undies out David.

The sacrifice is definitely worth it and providing Gabashvili doesn't get any further, Alex would need a semi appearance to retake the place.

G leading 4-2 final set, with a break.

he'll even have to take his advent calender out for some of it, still the thought of that tiny bit of chocolate in the morning might help get him through the long nights.

Ah well, some people shouldn't make such bold statements, as it hits them back literally. Hope it isn't too cold in the shed for UMF or it could be a long 40 nights for him

Oh good - so I had my calculations right, but I'd been misled by the SteveG points schedule..so Basel was an €850K International series event  = $1million event = 250 points, as opposed to a $800K International gold event such as Vienna. And Steveg had put it down as the latter?

Yes, apart from the fact that he didn't actually put it down as the latter on http://stevegtennis.com/atpres.htm, he just got the qualifying points wrong on http://stevegtennis.com/factsheets/2006/a-basel.htm, which I assume is where you picked them up from.

The correct points for Basel are the ones he shows on http://stevegtennis.com/factsheets/2006/a-stpetersburg.htm.

J saved 3 shed points in a tight game,

G to serve for the match, but even if he is broken J will have to serve it out again.

I think we are going to  need photographic evidence that the promise is kept UMF, perhaps a thread dedicated to it?

Gabashvili now has 83 points for his efforts this week, and climbs to WR 99 - equal to his career high. Boggo drops back to 121st again

yep, that's my source.

So how do I tell on the steveg schedule? Am I looking out for italics to see if it's a "Gold" event?
