True. I was rather shocked to see that he was that tiny but defeated Liam by that harsh a scoreline.
Must be having loads of potential then.
Here is Juniortennis' take on the match:
The boy's 12 final was quick affair, as Mitchell, played his best tennis to defeat Liam Broady, 6-0; 6-1, for the championship. His confidence grew with every point when he saw the strategy of nailing high balls to the leftie backhand was working on the wind swept stadium. "I was on," said Mitchell, with a sheepish grin. 'I was playing really really good." He also said winning the championship: "feels great, like best in the world." Dave Licker of T Bar M Racquet Club in Dallas, Texas, who has been working with Mitchell for two and a half years, is naturally proud of his charge: "Today he put it all together and played his best tennis by far. He likes the crowd, he eats all that stuff up, and he plays really well under pressure." Mitchell agreed. "I like it when people watch me. It makes me play a lot better." It was not the case for Liam, who found the American too much of a challenge today. "He could rally consistently," he said philosophically. "Then when I hit the short ball he put it away quite easily and he didn't miss."
