something weird going on at SteveG

- check it out: http://stevegtennis.com/

Looks like the site's reverted back to August 2005.

I hope it doesn't mean that Steve's lost all his data for the last year ???

Must have fixed itself as it looks normal to me.  It has updated the Basel results up to last night and the calendar looks fine.

strange - it's still messed up for me.  Looks like it's being cached wrongly somewhere (maybe it's a trans- atlantic thing?)

There is a message from Steve in the top left corner...

"Hi folks,

As some of you might have noticed (I know I received a rude awakening this morning) the site was rolled back to May 19. I have already restored most if not all of the missing data to the site since May 19. So the site should be operating normally in terms of being up to date. Let me know if anything is missing, not working correctly, or seems out of date. The only small thing I won't be able to get to anytime soon is changes to results files from 2003 and before. I have those on cd and have been having some disc problems.

The forums, however, are another matter. The last backup I have is not much better but at least its something (as of June 9). I will see if I can retrieve the missing messages since then. The problem is if I do a restore, then any messages since that point will disappear anyway. So for now I have disabled the forum until I can get things squared away.

I am trying to find out exactly what happened. I suspect my host has moved me to a new server because on the up side, the site seems to be performing very well. Or maybe they had a server problem and lost data. I will try to keep you up to date.

update #1: Apparently backing up the forum does not include the actual messages.

update #2: I have been told that the issue has been fixed and the site should be restored fully (including the forums I would assume) in a few hours. "
