The score in the final was 7-6[4], 6-2. The rivalry between our top five U16s is going to be interesting, I'd say that Dan Cox is number one but Evans, Milton and Willis all have equally good claims to be considered no 2.
@ Willis' win over Helivaara [who's ranked 58 in juniors], that's a superb result considering the ranking disparity between them.
Willis has had 1 main draw wildcard for a futures so far, he was beaten 6-4, 6-1 by Lee Childs in rd1 earlier this year. He's played just two more futures, and has come very close to qualifying both times. On the clay of Bournemouth, he reached the final round before losing 6-2, 7-5 to Richard Brooks and in Nottingham at the end of September, he reached the final round before losing to Daniel Cox in 3 sets.
They do give out some weird prizes at these junior tournaments, last week we had Dan with his doritos packet and this week, Marcus appears to be holding a mini-football
