its tie-break time! a/a bit unlucky not to win theset prob, with 55% of the point so far. g/t score first below:
G/T serving 0-1 mini break a/a serving 0-2, ace arthurs 1-2 mini break back, beatiful lob by goldstein landing just inside the baseline, auckland just got it back but easy putaway from thomas g/t serving: 2-2 2-3, mini break back to brits (i think arthurs may live in middlesex - well i know he used to!) a/a serving: 4-2. quality. as they swap ends, aucks gulps down a couple of sips of his isotonic sports drink 5-2 now, arthurs not much of a chav with a name like wayne! g/t serving: 3-5. 4-5. hot stuff from the u s of a a/a serving 5-5 dammit. AA-esque rescue needed for a/a 5-6, sp for aucks & antipodean friend g/t serving: 5-7, good stuff lads! first set aucks
ball flies of the edge of goldstein's racket and thuds into the roof, causing murmurs among the sparsely populated crowd.
a nuber of miltary personel, dressed in full regalia and sporting attractive ushankas seem to have congregated behind the umpire, and modestly applaud as auckland puts away a backhand volley down the line to take the first game of the second set
as the players go to sit down for the break, with a/a 2-1 to the good in the second set, arthurs is surpirsed to see the ball-boy offer miniature bottles of vodka from the drinks fridge.
in a country though where water from the tap is a definite no-no, the only way to stay disease free may be to drink said clear liquor. arthurs however politely neglects the offer.
So, just a game away from victory against a world-class pairing who've made 3 ATP finals, the US Open quarters and beat the Murrays in Tokyo. This would be one of the best wins of James' career
That's pretty cool ! Hopefully you get the chance to watch their quarter-final match.

In the quarters, Arthurs and Auckland face 4th seeds Youzhny and Zimonjic who won 6-3, 6-4 in rd1 over Tomas Cibulec and Lovro Zovko.
Cibulec's a doubles specialist ranked 56 [peaked at 21 in 2003]. He's made 7 semis in ATPs and challenger and won the Bermuda and Napoli challengers. Last week he lost in the quarters of ATP Moscow with Novak.
Youzhny's not a regular partner. The Russian plays doubles and singles on a regular basis but before rd1 he was on a 4 match losing streak in doubles. He's peaked for the big tournaments this year, reaching the quarters of the US Open doubles and in Cincinatti and also rd4 of the French Open.
i must admit i tell a lie... was just a bit bored at work yesterday afternoon (not at the russian embassy!!) and let my imagination run riot. i hope you were suitably entertained though!

You fooled me!
You should try your hand at claiming to be one of the players like Jonny Marray or Lee Childs or someone!
Great win for Aucks. With Arthurs at his side he's every chance of doing really well here!
