Both the boys are through to the finals! Dan won his match 75 62. Josh won his match 63 63.
The draws aren't working properly on my computer, so I have no idea about who they defeated. No idea about what happened in doubles either because of the same reason.
I am pretty confident that Dan will take this one.
I agree, maybe Neil Pauffley might also make next year's US Open if he continues to make big strides.
One junior event which always puzzles me is junior Queens. As far as I know it doesn't have any ranking points available for it but is still a very prestigious title and attracts players in the world's top 10 in juniors yet every since 2003, it's always been won by a British player !! Boggo won it in 2003, then in 2004 it was Kasiri, in 2005 it was Kennaugh and this year it was Iain Atkinson who was outside the world's top 200. Whenever our juniors step onto the grass of Queens, they all seem to always play the tennis of their lives.
If the trend continues, Cox is probably the favourite to do it next year.
I agree, there's quite a few G4s in Asia before Eddie Herr and they're all fairly weak, Josh would have a pretty good chance of making at least the quarters, each time. However, I have a feeling he and Cox may return to Britain in November and play the GB futures.
I agree with the Pauffley part. He has been pretty solid during the last few months.
Here is a very good article on Neil : http://sport.guardian.co.uk/tennis/osm/story/0,,1766621,00.html
I tip Cox to win the US Open Juniors in the future. The way he has been following Andy's footsteps, it's a big possibility Gastao Elias will be huge threat.
The Queens junior event is a huge mystery. It doesn't have ranking points but it's prestigious as you say. What's really odd are that the draws are not available. Even though you have Livescores.
Cox could play there but he could also attempt to play in the qualies for Nottingham like he did this year.
Quarters won't affect Josh's points total. He will need to reach the finals.
Yeah, I too reckon that Dan will return to Britain. He could even try to qualify for the Challenger and you never know, he could get a wild card into the mains. Sadly he won't be able to defend his India point.
