U gets the 1st mb, but al takes it straight back, 22 U to serve.

U holds, 32 and its back on serve but of course al is always coming from behind.

al really needs a doublehold to put a bit of pressure on U. but he doesnt get it 42 to U, al manges to keep the tb alive tho, holding to go 43, but needs to find something on U's serve or be facing sp's very soon. and he does 4-4, al takes a big point to go 4-5 up and if he can hold both serves will take the match...

6-4 to al, 3 mps now, 1 on his sevre

the sb has gone to 7-4 al, is that it?? yes it is, al wons 76 76, after letting slip serving it out he makes amaneds and sets up another DC clash, JL are you watching.

Great news for Big Al.

So is it Sluiter in the quarter finals???

This will defend Southampton from last year will it, so will anything else be a bonus?

Defends the 12 from Southampon and gains 2 more as this challenger is worth more.

Thanks for the scores. Well done Boggo. Hope he can make it 2/2 against Sluiter although I think it will be tough.

According to the rankings thread, this win could possibly take Alex to 101 but that's providing that all the players between him and the top 100 go out !!!!

Great win for Alex, Vico was a tricky opponent so he did well to come through that. Given Vico's liking for coming to the net, I wonder if Alex tried to play closer to the baseline and be more aggressive and maybe he tried to attack the net more as with the low bounce, players who like to rush the net a lot have a big advantage in this tournament.

I wonder if he rushed things when serving for it at 5-4 in the 2nd in an attempt to make the players party at Kolding castle on time and lost concentration

Just to clarify, winning the tournament could (possibly) take Alex to 101, it will take a few more wins yet. At the moment he is at 114.
