Waske holds to 30, good effort from Macca, but just too good at the big moments, hard to say it, but he held his nerve well in the face of a lot of pressure

crap, looks like alan got tight or waske just upped it when he needed too.

still has to be said very encoraging play from alan indoors, lets hope with kinder draws he can make some head way in the last few weeks.

Excellent effort from Alan, it all looked so promising after the 1st set, he must be gutted right now. That service game at the start of the 2nd was really the turning point, Waske seemed to up his level after that. Alan had several chances in the decider, just wasn't able to get that bp.

Alan's level has really increased since he started working with Mike Raphael, it really does seem like he has the ability to make the top 150. A year ago, it looked doubtful that he would break the top 200 but now he's beating top 200 players on a regular basis

Thanks for the commentary people, shame Alan couldn't take it in the end but I don't think he should be too disappointed with his overall performance. Anyone know where he's heading next?

No, but I'm guessing he's got a decent chance of a Nottingham WC after this week.

Report from www.alexanderwaske.com on the match with Macca:

17.10.2006 : Kolding

Tough fight with a lucky end, I beat Mackin 2-6 6-4 7-5. have been sich till last Friday and still am not feeling fit. I hope things will be better by tomorrow when I face Burgsmueller.
Amazing how they cannot even provide a hot meal on site besides Burgers and Fries, one has to leave the premises to get some decent food. Around 3 to 7 people in the stands, so it seems to be the event everybody has been waiting for...

Sounds like Britain isnt the only place where Challengers are played out to empty audiences!!!

Alan's schedule for the rest of the year: Nottingham Challenger, Redbridge 15K, Sunderland 15K, Shrewsbury 25K+H.

Mike didn't mention this but I wonder if Alan might also have go with him and Alex to Aachen after Nottingham.

Lol ! Also, those 3-7 people won't be fans, they're the coaches of both players and maybe a few of the players checking out their likely next opponent or cheering their compatriots on.
