I can't believe that Naomi Cavaday and Georgie Stoop haven't got main draw wildcards ? That seems crazy given their form recently, both have reached 25K semis.
Why give Natasha Khan a wildcard ahead of them ? She had some great results last week but she didn't reach the semis and thrash the no 2 seed like Georgie.
Caitlin Steel is one of Scotland's top junior hopes. She's 16 and doesn't have a senior ranking but is ranked 729 in juniors.
Naomi should win his 1st qualifying round match pretty easily but her projected rd2 opponent Masa Zec-Peskiric could cause her problems. The 19 year old Slovenian is a former junior no 17 and is ranked no 335 in seniors. However, I still pick Naomi to win in straights as Zec-Peskiric hasn't played indoors since the start of the year, she's competed mainly on clay. Her best result has been reaching a 25K quarter-final on Bulgarian clay, apart from that she's had a fairly average year.
Georgie should have a good chance against her opponent today. Ozgen is ranked 416 and has been competing on outdoor hard and clay since January. Her best result has been making a 25K quarter-final in Georgia a couple of weeks ago.
2nd seed Andriea Sieveke beat Anna Fitzpatrick in the 25K in Nottingham a couple of weeks ago before getting double-bagelled by Amanda Keen.
Tough matches for Julia Bone, Emily Webley-Smith and Olivia Scarfi but I'm hopeful that one of them might be able to cause an upset. Laura Thorpe is the lucky loser who beat Jane O'Donoghue 1-6, 7-6, 7-6 in rd1 of Jersey.
Really good set of q results. Particularly Scarfi, Peterzan and Broady, but also Georgie S (why no WC for her or Naomi C?). Good to see EWS comeback continue onward.
No draw/results yet but Order Of Play is up for tomorrow.
Smith vs Serra-Zanetti rematch Ozga vs O'Brien rematch Roesch vs Dekmeijere Flipkens vs Nociarova Errani vs Khan Roma vs Orlova South vs Chvojkova Andersson vs Haring Kosinska vs Savransky O'Donoghue vs Gubasci Ruutel vs Widmer Petkovic vs Llewellyn Stoop vs Keothavong Pavlovic vs Paterson Cavaday vs Webley-Smith rematch Kerber vs Barrois
And also Savransky seems to be playing doubles with Naomi Broady.
Well i hope Cavaday enjoy herself if she gets through. Looking at Barrois's ITF record, shes 27 and defending her title in Glasgow. she won two challenger titles way at the start of the year, but since then, sorry to be nasty, but her form has been awful...she hasnt won an ITF match since July, even though she has got wins in qualifying WTA tournies! So i BELIEVE that naomi should win this match.
