RE: Andy's Competitors week 42

Hmmm.

Obviously the most pin-sticking must be for Ljubicic. Then I think I will support Gasquet to beat Djokovic, and pin him down to 1345 points. If Andy could beat Ljubo, he would equal that score, hopefully getting past by winning his next match too. . .

Well I can hope.

p 16, here we come... beat Novak, which is good, as he's climbing the rankings at a similar time & pace.

The table's updated following Andy's win. He overtakes Nieminen, and (possibly temporarily) Djokovic and goes to 16th.

Can we persuade Gasquet to knock out Novak?

- Not looking good: 3-0 to Djoko in the third: Come on Bethan & Mad, pins out of Ljuby & into Djokovic now!

Hey, I miscalculated, I think he is already past Novak - as long as Gasquet wins.

Allez Richard!

- got any spare ones for JC Ferrero? On court now. Djoko's 5-1 and 30-0 up, so there may be some spare ones soon

Well, he'll just have to beat Djokovic in the next round then. That will solve the problem.

Ok, pins into Ferrero (oh, and I like him too. The things I do for Andy!)

Ferrero's a break down to Soderling and serving to stay in the set at 5-2*

And JCF goes out to Soderling.   Just 2 threats left in the tournament  - Soderling and Vliegen, and both would need to win the tournament to do so. Worst case final position of 18th now!

Soderling and Vliegen both out now so no one can overtake.

Now Andy how far upwards can you go? All pins in Djokovic.

The first post has been updated accordingly. Worst case is a 17th place finish

Table updated. Djokovic  goes out, and doesn't get too far away from Andy. Berdych climbs off the top of the table - now WR 9. Gonzalez climbs to 10. Both overtake Baghdatis.

(Nalbandian overtakes Ljubicic - he's WR 3 now)

That's it for the table for this week, Gonzalez heads up into the top 10. Berdych goes out.
