I didn't know you were a badminton player Drew, did you play county level when you were younger ? Do you still play ? I'm very keen on badminton, funnily enough it's really helped my volleying in tennis.

Will you be able to go this week ?

I played at district level at badminton and also a club level. My Dad went onto to be an international class coach. He coached my younger brother to gold at the world youth olympics in Denmark U14 level. He was ranked No2 in Scotland.

I was quite good but at every opportunity I nicked off....to play golf, football or cricket !

I am hopefull on going down on Wednesday / Thursday midday. Cant go Tuesday. Might not be any brits left by Friday....only joking

Thanks for the results Bladetiger

Just as I predicted Although, I did think that Burn would take a set off Rushby.

Fantastic win for David Brewer, beating a guy ranked 200 places higher Maybe competing on Scottish soil will inspire him this week and we'll see a Flanagan-like run

Maybe but it's a helluva lot tougher field this week than last week, think some people are coming over with a view to playing glasgow and then the challenger at Nottm next week.

True 4 top 250 players in a 15K futures is crazy and then after that there's Sijsling who's progressed several hundred places this year and Baccanello [former top 150 player before injury]. Huta-Galung and Chramosta are also very good players indoors and have done well in GB in the past.

Personally, I think that Slabba is the man to watch though this week That guy needs a big week soon and I have a feeling it could be in this tourney. Hopefully he gets a decent draw for once and avoids of of the top 4 seeds in rd1.

My Dad (step) died when my younger brother was just 15....he never played competetively after that...a real shame...wasted talent. He could beat me off the court when he was 10. Im 12 years older than him !

I picked him up at the airport when he came back from Denmark ...a gold in the U14 singles and a silver in the boys doubles. His Dad was speachless....he could not afford to go...and did not know how he got on until he got back !!!
