Well done Alex!

Hey guys, this is my first post on this board, just posting to say congratulations and what a great run in Mons from Alex Bogdanovich.

Any of you guys know where he's going next? I heard he was having this week off and then going to Denmark. Anyone have any info on Denmark? I assume it's a challenger. Any idea of prize money or entries??

Thanks guys, this message board looks really good, lots of people putting in a lot of work for the more minor tournaments and lots of intelligent discussion on Andy, Tim, Alex and Greg etc.

Hi & Welcome.

31 (Q)
32 (Q)

Alex ranking will be much higher when the event starts and may scrap a seeding.

He has had to take a week off this week as his success in mons ment he was unable to play any of the apt qualifers, i think he may also be a bit fatigued as well.

have a look at http://www.stevegtennis.com for all the facts and figures for upcoming tournaments - links to entry ranking points and 2006 calendar & results (which has tournament factsheets with points / prizemoney) are particularly helpful, as is the forum for entry lists.  a real wealth of information (if you can't find it here!!)

Thanks for the info!

I use stevegtennis for the rankings but never really looked around the site in any detail. Didn't realise it had that much info on it!

Anyway, just looking at that entry list, there's surely no reason Alex can't have another good run here. I wouldn't be particularly afraid of any of the top seeds as a fan.

Looking forward to the tourney now.

Speaking after the match:

“It’s been a pretty tough week for me, I had a few three-set matches but I managed to play pretty solid throughout,” Bogdanovic said.

“I was down break points and set points during the matches but was pleased with how I played the big points.

“It’s been a good year for me. It started really well, winning two Challengers [in Wrexham and Bergamo] but the summer was tough.

“I picked up an injury which was really frustrating but I've worked hard to get back to where I am and I'm looking forward to the rest of the year.

“I have a week back training and then its Denmark, Nottingham, Slovenia and Ukraine.

Alex is also hoping to spend some time with Brad Gilbert in the off season, he said “Brad has had a massive effect on Andy and hopefully I’ll have some time on court with him next month.”

“Hopefully I'll perform well and get my ranking up towards the top 100. It’s a question of keeping the momentum going for the rest of the season.”
