Good win there. A tough final qualifying round to come for both Mackin and Marray.....against seeds 1 and 2 respectively.

Still can't quite believe there are no ranking point for second and final Q round losers. Two wins like these would probably put you in the QF of a 50K tournament (12 points), and certainly in the QF of a 15K (3 points). Given they are equivalent in prize money, why not in ranking points?

Larger events do give pts for Q2,Q3 but this only 10 for making the MD....the cash isnt too bad though

Is there any chance that two players plan to pull out of the main draw. In those circumstances it has been known for the top seeds to take a relaxed attitude to the match knowing that they will qualify whatever happens.

harsh draw! hanley/ullyett world class partnership!  enticing looking match between the 2 (unrelated) johanssens and bjorkman / john mcenroe!

yeah hopefully some players withdrew last night then top 2 seeds may just take it a bit easy! such a huge disparity in terms of prize money too - 700 odd euros for final qualies round and over 6k for first round!

and devlider takes it 6-1 6-4.

disappointing as thought alan had a chance but then devilder is far higher ranked and is in the habit of winning lots of matches this yr - 9 challenger semis or better - so maybe not too much of a surprise.

still think alan's standard of play is round the 200 or so mark in terms of rankings, so would hope he can push on!

now come on jonny!
