They often make that mistake on the scoreboards. I have two explanations - [1] Many Scottish surnames begin with Mac but like this MacLaurin, they maybe think that his surname is Mac Kin instead off Mackin if that makes sense
[2] Alan's nickname on the tour is King Mac or the Mac King so maybe it's referring to that

Mackin was first rhymed like that after the Flee gave Paisley's finest a good smackin' in the GB satellite week 4 final earlier this year. It was particularly appropriate, given that Mackin had been trying to arrange dates with Colin's sister a few days earlier after seeing her photo for the first time and Colin was not happy about it at all

Yeah I get what you mean, but I'm they'd have figured out by now it's not spelt like that. Let's just hope it's number 2 then
