Qualifying highlights


Madeleine Brooks (GBR) is seeded 5 and has byes through to the final qualifying round where any of her possible opponents will be unranked.


Fran Kinsella (GBR) faces unranked Ukrainian ALina Shazhko in round one with the winner facing Austrian Birgit  Ritschka for a place in the md.

Qualifiers have been placed into the draw.


It went quite well for Madeleine Brooks. She faces....


1110 ranked Slovenian Maja Kambic. Lets hope her practice in qualifying will help her to oust this opponent.


Interestingly the main draw has left a spot open for a LL. I'll investigate if Fran Kinsella has any chance of getting this.

She has as good a chance as any of the other 8 final round losers who are all unranked, so its unlikely.


Kinsella is in main draw doubles though, teaming up with Israeli Dena Laadan. They face a German/Israeli unranked pairing. We'll see.

A milestone for Madelaine-her first main draw win (she has many qualifying wins, but this is the first in the MD).

Superb win for Madelaine, congratulations to her on achieving that milestone

In rd2 she faces 7th seeded Greek Anna Koumantou who's ranked 717. If Madelaine plays well, maybe she can get a set
