Dee isn't playing here, he entered Spain F32 qualies and lost 2 and 2 in rd1.

Good chance for Miotto to gain another couple of ranking points

Some qualifying results in no specific order:

Jaco Mathew (IND) d. Daniel Rono (KEN) 6-0 6-0
Charles-Robert Viale (FRA) d. Gilbert Kibet (KEN) 7-6(?) 3-6 6-4
Joseph Cooper (GBR) d. Arnold Mbandi (KEN) 6-2 6-0
John McGahon (IRL) d. Khalid Changawa (KEN) 6-0 6-0

Artem Isaev (RUS) d. Ronny Ndinya (KEN) 6-1 6-4
Edgar Kazembe (ZAM) d. Ali Zaver (CAN) 6-0 6-2
James Feaver (GBR) d. Fazal Khan (KEN) 6-2 6-0
Alex Johnston (GBR) d. Jinal Shah (KEN) 6-0 6-1

Judging by all these scorelines the standard of play here is not very good.

My worry is that Miotto and co will now travel round with an inflated ranking for doing well against people who wouldn't make the British Tropicana tour.

Qualifying round

Anoosha SHAHGHOLI (IRI) (1) defeated Alex JOHNSTON (GBR) 76(6) 61
Alexandru-Daniel CARPEN (ROM) (3) defeated James FEAVER (GBR) 26 62 64
Dmitry IVANOV (UZB) (4) defeated Joe COOPER (GBR) 63 64
Edward SEATOR (GBR) (5) defeated Edgar KAZEMBE (ZAM) 64 75
John MCGAHON (IRL) (6) defeated Artem ISAEV (RUS) (9) 61 61

I wouldn't read too much into the R32 results. Some futures don't even have an R32 qualifying, so the presence of some weaker locals is expected (and why there are futures in Africa, to allow them to play). Then again, those in Spain go up to R128.....

Congrats to Ed on qualifying again, he's won ranking points at all three of the African futures so far on this tour, hopefully it continues
