RE: Auckland v Moodie - Mumbai rd2

What a result! Couldnt get the scoreboard up at work so was watching it through Betfair seeing the odds change! Got very nerve wreaking when Moodie suddenyl became favourite through the Tie Break!

What an absolutely brilliant result for James

That's an absolutely stunning win, a massive boost for Auckland in terms of ranking, confidence and cash. He's now up to about 310 in the world rankings and will be surely looking to be at a career high ranking by the end of the year in this form [his career high is 280].

He plays Tursunov in tomorrow's quarters

And has a doubles quarter-final later today too !

that will take him to 120 points which is roughly 306 in the rankings.

Roughly what time will his doubles be later does anyone know?

that really is an incredible result.  he didn't face a break point in the entire match against a top 100 player -

think if henman, for example, played someone outside the top 400 you wouldn't give them a chance in hell unless henman was injured so this result really is fantastic!

It's going to be arranged to give James suitable recovery time. I'd say it'll be in 1.5-2 hours.

I agree, James played absolutely superbly on the big pts when it mattered most. In simple terms he outserved the server, winning the ace count 16-15. The stats showed that James' 2nd serve was better than Moodie's and James was able to win pts on it at crucial times - eg: at 5-5 when he could have gone down 0-40. James made Moodie really pay whenever he missed the first serves and that told in the breakers

With Del Potro having to retire through injury I wonder whether there's a chance that Auckland and Delgado will get a walkover through to the semis ?

That'd complete a perfect day for James !

Really encouraging - at the start of the year if you were to say 5 male Brits would reach ATP singles quarters you'd have been quite surprised. And you definately wouldn't have picked the 5 that actually have !!
