Bangkok Doubles 1st Rnd: A Murray/J Murray vs Dancevic/Ginepri

Andy as you all probably know is teaming up with his bro in the doubles are up against Canada's no 1 singles player Dancevic and Ginepri who to my knowledge haven't even teamed before in doubles.

My prediction is that Andy and Jamie will come through the tie in straight sets hopefully ;D

Someone can set up a poll if they want

OOP has them down as fifth match on court 1. Second match after 4:30pm local time which is 10:30am here. Anyone want to make a prediction as to when they play?

I reckon that the match will start at around 11:30-12:00 our time, but with his match against Tim starting at 7:30 our time, hopefully his singles match will end quickly (preferably with a win for Andy ).

how will andy cope with 2 matchs on a day after the dc tie? maybe if he beats tim then plays doubles the will be very tired against alex? what if he gets a doubles and singles on the same day as the match vs alex? i can understand him wanting to help his brother out, but can it be done at the expense of his singles career, esp at and event where he has so much to defend?

Was interesting watching them as last years Aberdeen Cup....Jamie played much the better tennis...until Andy woke up in the 2nd set and started to fire lethal winners...still Jamie came out that looking the better doubles player.

Will be good to see this year any change in Andys double play.

The match will probably now start around midday with the Nieminen match lasting 2 hours.

Jamie is confident as Dancevic and Ginepri haven't played together before while he and Andy know each others' games inside out which is always an advantage.

Dancevic is currently ranked 508 in doubles, he peaked at 270 which was in June. His best results have been reaching a couple of challenger semis but he hasn't won a doubles match on the main tour this year.

Ginepri is ranked 390 in doubles, he peaked at 134 in 2004. He rarely plays doubles and when he does he hasn't had much success. He's won 3 doubles matches out of about 15 this year.

Looking at those stats I'd say that Jamie and Andy are big favourites to win as long as Andy isn't too tired from his match with Tim.

Match underway. Ginepri/Dan serving first. 30-15. 30-30. Can't tell which of them is actually serving.

The M brothers went on to get a break point in the opening game but failed to convert it.

they then held serve to 15.

Once again they got to 30-40 on the G/D serve but again couldn't convert.

1-2 on serve.

it was the Ms turn to face a break point that game but they held on to draw level at 2-2.

G/D serving and once again it goes straight to 30-40, but once again the Murray boys can't convert and G/D hold to lead 3-2.

One of the Murray's is broken to 30. from looking at the stats I'm fairly sure that they went 0-40 down in that game.

4-2 to G/D they need to be broken here.
