I believe Matt's defending 12 points from a 10K futures win this week so he'll prbably drop down quite bit.

He's got virtually all his points to defend in the next 2 months, so he'd better get winning or get ready to take a right bath too.

I make it that Matt will drop out of the top 400 now, going from 376 down to about 402

Fantastic wins from both, especially Jonny, knocking out the top seed !!!

Jamie is really the 3-set king this week, grinding his way through 4 successive 3 setters. Looks like he really stepped up a gear after being outplayed in set 2.

Jamie and Jonny have never played before. You have to rate Jonny as the favourite having beaten the 1st and 4th seeds but I hope that Jamie wins [though of course I'm biased]

Here's the ranking info: Both have secured 12 points, the winner of the final will get 18 points.

If Jamie wins he will move up to 279, if he loses he will move up to 285. He's currently ranked 302.

If Jonny wins he will move up to 330, if he loses he will move up to 346. He's currently ranked 373.

Have to be happy with a Jamie-Jonny final. My money is on Jonny, as he is on form right now. But a no lose final makes one very happy.

Wow, what a result

Fantastic win for Jamie Baker !!!

I really thought it'd be a close 3 setter, I never thought that Jamie would win that easily given Jonny's high-pressure game and his recent form.

So Jamie moves up to 279 in the rankings and Jonny also enjoys a 27 place increase to 346.

My imaginary money was lost. Good job I'm no gambler, with my unerring ability to get it wrong.

Big win for Jamie this week-things are good when you win a tournament without being at your best early on.

This is Jamie's 1st 15K title [he'd reached two finals earlier this year in Australia and New Zealand]. It's his 4th futures title [he won in Mexico and Bolton in 2005 and in Greece earlier this year].

Jamie's next tournament will be a 75K challenger in Sacramento, he'll have to qualify but will be seeded in the qualies which begin next Saturday. After that he's playing the Calabasas challenger before heading back to GB for the Nottingham challenger. In the off season I believe that he's heading to the States to spend quite a bit of time training there and he's also planning to spend some weeks at Brad Gilbert's ranch, working with him. It'll be good warm weather training for Australia as with a ranking of 270-290 he should make the Aussie Open qualies but.

Jamie Baker

That is a career best week for Jamie, up till today his personal best was 12 points but winning this tournament has earned him 18 big ones.

More importantly he has some great form to take onto the challenger circuit.

Well done to Jamie, quite the result there in the final against an in-form player this week. Pity it was another Brit he had to beat, oh well one of them had to lose. Well being biased I'm glad it wasn't Jamie that lost
