Well, as expected, with last year's Bangkok points falling off, Andy drops three places to 19th.

The other loser is Radek Stepanek, who drops 2 to 12th.

Amazingly, Niemenen is defending 75, but has a spare 75 as his 19th result!

So, over to Imoen to tell us what Andy needs to do to climb back to his rightful place, and who to watch out for while he does it!

Andy needs to get to R3 to improve on his points and his p19. To get back to 16th, Andy needs to equal last year's final appearance. However, even winning it will not improve on that, as there is a large gap of 300 points between p15 and p16...

... that's not taking the other players into account!

It looks like only Tursunov and Verdasco of the players just below Andy are playing this week, and hopefully Tursunov is worn out after his DC heroics!

In fact, neither of them can overtake Andy this week as both have large 18th results so even if they won the tournament they would still be behind.

So, regardless of what happens, Andy cannot drop lower than 19th.

as for gaining back places.

If he wins in the first round, he will not gain any points or places.

If he wins in the second round, he will gain 19 points, and will definitely gain back one place.

If he wins in the quarters, he will gain another 35 points, and will gain back another place, provided Ferrero goes out before the semis.

If he wins in the semi, he will gain another 45 points, and will gain back the final place lost, provided Nieminen goes out before the final.

If he wins in the final, he will gain another 55 points, and will not gain any further places, but will reduce the deficit to Ferrer in front to (only!) 220 points.

So pins, into all Andy's opponents (not sure I can do that for Henman though) and Ferrero and Nieminen.

Really? Will that mean Benneteau gets a walkover? I suppose it is too late for a lucky loser.

Andy's out, so p19 it is

Good news for Tim though who shouldn't have a problem against Boggo for a R3 appearance, and extra points...

On the bright side at least he can't lose anymore places.
