Alan Mackin beats Lisnard 1-6, 6-1, 6-2...what a great turnaround

Unfortunately Martin Lee lost to Saulnier 6-2, 7-5

Well done to Mackin Haehnel in the 2nd round for him who he beat in the Orleans challenger, so hopefully he repeat another win against him again..

Such a pity for Lee though

So near but so far.... what was the score in the breaker?

Not sure. The tournament website only said 7-6. The ATP drawsheet should have the breaker score tonight or tomorrow.

Really bad draw for Bloomers - What on earth is Muller doing playing a Challenger? He was well inside the top 100 when the entry lists were compiled, and would have been on the MD in all three ATP events this week. Ah well, good experience blah blah blah

I suppose he just wanted to stay in Europe and play indoors rather than have to travel to Asia, only ATP in Europe this week is on clay. It was a terrible draw for Richard, he's quite possibly got the eventual tournament winner in rd1. I can't see him in any futures next week so I suspect that he and Martin Lee will be going for Mons challenger qualifying, maybe Mackin will have a go aswell.

Norman bt Childs 1-6, 7-6, 6-4

Lisnard is a clay-court specialist and he's been struggling indoors, he's not won a match yet on indoor hard this autumn. However, he's beaten Andy Murray this year and is ranked about 150 places higher than Mackin at 172 and is a former top 100 player so it was a fantastic result Pretty bizarre scoreline though, looks like Mackin blew Lisnard off the court after Lisnard dominated the 1st set, I wonder what led to such a dramatic turnaround.

That's a disappointing loss for Martin, it was a good draw but from what Bladetiger said last week, he's off form at the moment and is struggling a bit with his serve. Hopefully he can get some indoor wins under his belt at Mons at the weekend.

Horrible draw for Lee but he came so close He must have been on fire with his returns in the 1st set, to break the Norman serve twice, and on indoor courts.

Rd2: Mackin v Haehnel [wr: 157]

Haehnel narrowly overcame the fast-improving Alexander Sidorenko in 3 sets in rd1. It's a good draw for Alan who beat him 6-3, 7-6 in Orleans a couple of weeks ago. Alan's points gained already from this week will ensure that he moves up from 323 to 307 and if he beats Haehnel he'll move back into the top 300 and reclaim the much coveted Scottish no 2 spot from Jamie Baker.

Its true. And it is disappointing.

Mackin has the ability to beat him but just can't find consistent perfomances back to back.

Heading in the right direction though.

A disappointing loss for Mackin after their previous match which Mackin won by an almost identical scoreline. However, he did well again in qualifying and had a superb rd1 win from Lisnard, he's very much on the up at the moment. He gains 10 pts which will take him up from 323 to 305.
