S holds for 5-4. He's really moved Greg around the court well in this match off both sides, his passing shots have been superb and he's used the drop shot extremely well. In the 2nd and 3rd sets Greg has upped his level on serve and has been able to get into the net more and have easier volleys otherwise Stakhvosky would be winning this match.
there were a couple of drop shots that Greg didn't even attempt to get to, hopefully that's conserving energy rather than having no energy. On the bright side, he did chase down a third, eventually losing the point on the next volley but still.

A forehand pass from way behind the baseline and Rusedski can only put a half-volley into the tramlines giving S the 1st point. S then hits a forehand drop shot which R doesn't even attempt to get, giving him 15-30. However, some big serves and a couple of massive forehands enable R to hold on in this set, absolutely vital hold there.
S then holds to 15 easily, some really big forehands, finishing points off at the net and two more drop shots give him the game
Greg couldn't get enough first serves in play during that game and I have a sinking feeling that he can't win in five from this position. He is looking tired, and in comparison, S looks like he's just eaten some jumping beans (seriously the guy can't stand still). I hate to be so pessimistic but it's my honest opinion. If greg can get early breaks, and preferably double breaks in each set, and win his serve with ease (ie keep the sets short) then he could win but otherwise I'd say it's strongly in Ukraines favour.

Rusedski pays the penalty for missing two fairly easy mid-court forehands, the 2nd of which gives S set point. R missed an easy volley to make it 30-30 and then thumped a forehand winner for 40-30. S then hit a screaming forehand cross-court return winner to get to deuce. Then R put a forehand just wide and S took the set as R netted a difficult low volley.
R is looking tired and leaden-footed, he's going to have to go the distance but does he have the energy.
love hold from s. an ace, a winner and two ues from greg.3-0. i think this is curtains from greg. s knows greg is hurting and its giving him confidence and drive.

greg is really struggling to get first serves in at the moment and hit a double fault (followed immediately by an ace though). he held there more from S making ues than greg winning as such . hopefully that's given hm confidence and s doubt and the match can turn itself around.

he served two double faults to go 15-40 down, saved the first bp with a ue from S, the second with a stunning backhand, backwards cross-court volley.
all you sports people/doctors out there, is a hip injury going to affect Greg's serve because he really can't find his range at the moment, to give you an idea these last two sets his first serve percentage has been lower than Andy Murrays! (that's purely me estimating as there are no stats available)
