The score was 6-2, 6-4. Congratulations to James, that's an extremely convincing win. I believe that he's guaranteed 10 points as a result of this - 5 for qualifying + 5 if he loses in rd1. This will take James up from 406 to 371.
Even better news for James is that in rd1 he faces another qualifier - Germany's Frank Moser. Moser is currently ranked 422, his career high is 288, reached in 2003. His best results of 2006 have been reaching the quarters of the Bermuda challenger in April and the semis of a challenger in Ecuador in July, both on clay. He tried to qualify for ATP Bejing last week, losing in the final qualifying round. He just sneaked through in his match today, beating India's Mustafa Ghouse [wr:1090] 7-6[5], 7-6[7].
This is probably the best possibly match for James, I reckon he has a great chance of winning ! The match will be 1st on court 1 tomorrow at around 11.30 am BST, 4pm India time. Greenleaf, will you be able to watch it ?
A big incentive for James is that if he wins, he'll get back into the top 350 and move up to about 342.
Maybe you might get to see the latter part of his match but possibly not as it's on court 1 not centre.
Hopefully James will win and then he'd be likely to play Wesley Moodie the 8th seed in rd2. There should be a good chance of that one being televised and also if Aucks and Delgado reach the latter stages of the doubles you might get to see them in action.
