Yeh, that may be true, he does seem to play more in spain than anywhere else. I read somewhere that he was based in the US. I guess he must of moved to spain.

Where did you read that he was based in the US ? I thought he was based at a club in Kent, he won their club tournament in 2005 and they did a mini-feature on him in their local paper
Brilliant win for Richard Brooks Ranking-wise, that's one of the best British results of 2006, the only results which can really rival it are Daniel Cox's two shock wins in the Wrexham main draw in August.
Lol Bethan
Unfortunately, Alan Wright wasn't able to join him in rd2, he lost 6-2, 6-7[2], 6-4 A shame that he gets no points this week after such a superb qualifying win but this was a really great effort, taking a set off a player ranked over 1100 places higher
Brooks faces 7th seeded Israeli Dekel Valtzer in rd2. Valtzer is ranked 439 and beat a compatriot 7-5, 6-3 in rd1. Hopefully Richard can equal James Ward's achievements of last week !
How can you get no points for such a great effort against much higher ranked opposition.
I wish Alan would play the odd easy event to pick up some points becuase he is seriously under-ranked since he lost the points from last year's Donetsk Challenger.
It does seem really unfair to me, I think they should change the rules so that qualifying for a futures gives 1 ranking point as so often players do really well to qualify and then draw the top seed or the 'on form' player in the first round.
