Her not playing Juniors makes a lot of sense now. She can play just fourteen tournaments between her 14th and 15th birthday and she has used up eight of those chances. So just six tournaments between now and August. Assuming that four of those eight are Astrid Bowl, Roland Garros, Roehampton and Wimbly, she can play just TWO tournaments between now and end May.
And four remaining women's tournaments, which she should play as late as possible in my opinion.
Thanks for explaining that Arka, I didn't realise that Tara could play so few junior tournaments. They really should let promising 14 year olds play just a few more than that ! Maybe 18 tournaments between 14 and 15.
She can play four extra tournaments if she cracks the top 20. She could do it if she had skipped Eddie Herr and Orange Bowl and played all the COSAT tournaments, but no use complaining about it now.
She might skip Roland Garros and play somewhere where there'll be easier points. At least that's what I want her to do.

I thought that you knew that.

Tara can use her ITF ranking for entering a few 16s tournaments in case she wants more match practice.

Ah but I don't have the memory of the Panda for this stuff I can't even remember where I found that info now.

Do you mean top 20 juniors or just top 20 U16s ? Surely top 20 juniors is a long way off at the moment, even if she had played all the COSAT tourneys.
I doubt she'll skip Roland Garros, she seems to be very ambitious with regards to the tournaments she enters eg: entering Orange Bowl U18s when she could have played the 14&U !
I'm guessing she'll have to play qualies for Roland Garros ?
Btw, we need a junior rankings thread..... Would be useful to be able to see easily who the top 10 British boys and girls are.

Top 20 Juniors. It's tough, but Tara would have had an outside chance if she played them. You need to be something really special to win Eddie Herr.

She has set herself mighty high standards and rightly so. That's just how good you usually need to be to become a top player.
Hingis won Roland Garros Juniors at the age of 12.
She'll have to play qualies with this ranking. Last year the cut was 55.

Where do I start it? Here or in the Junior section? Won't be able to do it before the next week. I have too much work now and after today I won't be online till Monday.
