Britain's Michael Thompson and Graeme Dyce have both qualified. Thompson is 16 and lives in South Africa. His favourite surface is grass and he's coached by former British no 1 doubles player Neil Broad who played many DC ties.
Rd1: M Thompson [GB] v T Hodorov [Isr]
G Dyce [GB] v H Dil [Holland]
Thompson has a good chance of winning, his opponent has a similar junior ranking [304]. If he wins he will play the top seed and world no 11, Sanem Singh
Dyce should beat Dil who's ranked about 190 places lower at 350. If Dyce wins he will play the 6th seed and world no 44 Dennis Lajola.
he then lost 7-6[8], 6-3 to top seed Sanam Singh in rd2 but still a very good performance considering that there are about 300 ranking places between them.
Graeme Dyce has had two superb results
He beat Holland's Halver Dil 7-6[2], 6-2 in rd1 and then in rd2 he brushed aside the challenge of the American no 8 seed and world no 44, Dennis Lajola 6-4, 6-4 !!!!
Dyce now faces 12th seed Chilean Ricardo Urzua in rd3. Urzua is 17 and ranked 58 in the world. He's a clay court specialist, he lost in rd1 of Wimbledon juniors and the US Open juniors and in rd2 of RG to Donald Young. His best result of the year has been making the quarters of the prestigious Banana Bowl on clay in Brazil. He's got no senior ranking. I reckon that Dyce has a good chance of winning and making the quarters where he'd be likely to face the 2nd seed.
In rd3 he overcame the Chilean 10th seed and world no 58 in a really tight match, winning 5-7, 7-6[5], 6-4 He may have saved match points in that 2nd set.
Then in the quarters he faced the 13th seed, Indian Rupesh Roy, ranked 59. Roy was on a roll having just knocked out the 2nd seed in straight sets in the quarters. However he was no match for Dyce who completely outhit him, breezing through to the semis with a 6-1, 6-1 win
This run will send him rocketing up the junior rankings !!!
In the semis he faces American Rhyne Williams, who has achieved some similar giant-killing results. In rd1 he beat Dyce's conqueror at the US Open, Vladimir Zinyakov 6-2, 6-2 and in rd2 he beat the 15th seed 6-0, 6-2. He overcame the 4th seed and world no 21 7-6, 6-1 in rd3 and in the quarters he beat the 7th seed in 3 sets. Williams is 15 and ranked just 258 and has achieved little else of note this year in the juniors.
With Graeme in this kind of form, it's a great opportunity for him to make the final
In the semis he beat Rhyne Williams 7-5, 3-6, 7-6[4]
A superb victory considering that Rhyne has defeated the 4th, 7th and 15th seeds on his way to the semis.
This win will take Dyce to a new career high in juniors of no 99, the first time this year we will have had a British boy in the juniors top 100. If Dyce wins the final he'll move up to no 80.
In the final Dyce faces the Bolivian 10th seed Jose-Roberto Velasco. Velasco is ranked no 49 in juniors, he's currently unranked in seniors but in 2004 he gained his first points. However, since then he's concentrated on juniors and they've dropped off. Velasco hasn't had a particularly good year in the slams, losing in rd1 of junior US Open and junior Wimbledon. However, in January he won a grade 1 tournament on clay in Columbia and he's reached the semis of two more grade 1 clay tournaments in South America including the Asuncian bowl in Paraguay. This week he beat the 3rd seed, Kellen Damico of the USA in the quarters: 1-6, 6-3, 7-6 and in the semis he beat the 11th seeded Russian Daniil Arsenov [who'd knocked out the top seed Sanam Singh in the quarters], 6-2, 7-5.

It's a shame that Graeme was unable to build on that fabulous first set performance, but still, it's been a superb week for him, the best of his career by far. I think he's the first British junior since Andy Murray to reach the final of a grade 1 event.
This should give him a lot of confidence as it's shown him that he can compete with and beat some of the best juniors in the world.
However, it has been a breakthrough tournament. Graeme had 207.5 junior points at the start of the week, he has added 100 (less 20 from his 6th best result). 287.5 points should take him inside the top 100 for the first time.
And most importantly the natural order has been resumed and a Scotsman is British junior number 1.

Really impressive stuff from Dyce. But not at all biased then, Niall !! Can't you just be content with the senior no 1 being Scottish !!!
Anyway, we english have got the no 1 in doubles so there
