It's been a superb tournament for Jonny, this week will be a massive boost for him and hopefully it'll give him to confidence to maybe push on back into the top 300 by the end of the year so he can get into Aussie Open qualifying.

Of the players you mentioned, Sherwood is "injured," Hilton retired at the end of last year because he realised that in order to get further into the top 200 he needed to do more travelling and he was finding that too gruelling. Smith has struggled this year due to burn-out from playing right on into mid-December in 2005 while most players ended their season in mid-November, and he also broke up with his long-term girlfriend last December which was quite a blow. He's had a few good tournaments but nothing like his 2005 form, the bad news for him is that he's got masses to defend from the end of September onwards.

I think you've made a mistake with Bloomfield, he's had a fantastic season, doing really well at the start of the year and then a superb grass court run saw him reach no 200 in the world.

I agree that Delgado's form has been poor, I wonder whether he'll mainly focus on doubles now as he's in the form of his life with that - up to a career high of 139, reaching rd3 of Wimbledon, reaching several futures and challenger finals and he's formed successful partnerships with GB's no 1 and no 2 players Auckland and Jamie Murray. I'd say he's got a great chance of making the top 100 sometime soon and then maybe him, Auckland and Murray could start playing doubles regularly on the ATP tour.

Mackin had an good few weeks in the GB 1 satellite at the start of the year but he didn't do well until June, his ranking struggled as he was defending so much from 2005. However, since June he's been doing really great [he was unlucky to come against such tough opponents on the grass - Verdasco and Baghdatis otherwise I think he would be top 300]. Mackin's points gained so far this week will take him up to 328 from 362.

How many points are there for reaching the semis ?

The Rochus first set seems to be in a tiebreak.

I think reaching the semis of a 75K Challenger gives 31 points - an increase of very nearly 60% on Jonny's current total of 54!
