Hi

I just read andy blog, its pretty good.

Normally they practise for a week before they play davis cup, well thats what i have heard from players in the past. I hope the two jamie's carry on playing doubles together, they are doing really well. Jamie delgado is like the new colin flemming, doubles wise, lol.

The week before dc is next week, that's why I thought delgado might be playing and also, Mackin's competing this week and he's in the team.

Yeah looks like Jamie Delgado and Jamie Murray are really forming a great new partnership [still wish it was Colin and Jamie tho ]. Jamie's going to have quite a tough decision to make soon for the challengers and maybe for Wimbledon 2007 - should he play with Jamie or should he play with Aucks who's his other regular partner.

There are two GB pairs in doubles action this week:

Martin Lee and Jonny Marray are the 2nd seeds, they won their rd1 match 6-2, 6-2 against a wildcard pairing this evening. They play Arazi and El Aynaoui in the quarters.

James Auckland and Richard Bloomfield face French pairing Jean Faurel and Jeremy Chardy in rd1. Good news is that the top seeds [who they were due to play in the quarters] have gone out in rd1.

Lee could get Olivier Rochus in the 2nd round if he gets past his 1st round opponent. Not sure why someone such as Rochus being in the top 30 and all would be doing a challenger when he could have been in Bucharest or Beijing this week at an ATP Tour level tourney.

I've read that Rochus has been injured and he wants to get lots of match practise on the indoors before the big money ATP tourneys and he feels that the best way to do this is in a challenger. Hopefully Martin sends him packing nice and early in rd2

Ah makes sense really in that aspect. Yeah hopefully Rochus isn't in his best form and Lee will put him out that's if Rochus makes it to Rd 2

I'm not sure of the reason, I've just that he's had a very difficult time since returning home from Bronx and he's decided to quit tennis and enroll to complete his economics degree at university.

First result of the day is not a good one with Martin Lee going down 6-3, 6-4

Hi there

Thats a shame i really thought he was going to break into the top 200 sometime soon. But for now Jamie Delgado is my favourite player, hopefuly he will carry on well in the doubles and get back into the top 300 in the singles.

I hope that's not an omen for how things are going to go for the Brits today. Gulbis was a really, really tough draw for Martin, he's ranked 201 at just 17 and looks most definately like he's going be a top 100 player sometime soon having had a lot success in the challengers over the last couple of months. Hopefully Martin will be able to raise his game this autumn as the challengers offer a lot of points and dosh and like Boggo, indoor hard is probably his best surface along with grass.
