Table updated. Everyone won at this end of the rankings.
A certain Agassi has overtaken Boggo . And a certain Jiri Novak appears at the foot of the table (that protected ranking is standing him in good stead in NY)
Chiudinelli also won, off the bottom of the table, and now has 210 points.
Bad day for Boggo yesterday. he was overtaken by Agassi, Kubot and Bolleli leaving him at 138, a drop of three although still a rise from last week of 2.
Greg was only hit by Kubot in that group so moves down to 131, still a rise of 5 from last week.
threats left are: Fraile (Boggo only as he's in a challenger), Novak (winning next round would see him overtake both Greg and Boggo), Chiudinelli (doing far better than he should, reaching the quarters means he would overtake both.).
So whilst yesterday saw both our players losing places it also saw the reduction of the threat list from loads of people to only three so it was a good day as well.

Well I waited until Chiudinelli did the decent thing, and have now updated the table.
Unfortunately for Greg & Boggo, Jiri Novak is making the best of his protected ranking at the USO and won his third round match today, shooting him past them both to WR124.
Bolelli finished his week off by winning in Como, and overtaking Greg.
So Greg ends the first week of US Open fortnight at WR133, still 3 up from the start of the week. Boggo is now at 139, just 1 point up.
There's no more interest in the USO behind Boggo now: Chiudinelli, Sweeting and Okun all went out today. Agassi ends his career neatly sandwiched by the past & the future of British Tennis.
However, Werner Eschauer is now just 2 points behind Boggo, having won in Kranj, and Gorka Fraile ends the week 11 behind, having been the runner- up.
Eleven players on the table are playing Challengers.
Zib needs to reach the semis in Dusseldorf to overtake Greg.
Eschauer only needs to win his first round match to go level with Boggo. Luckily for Boggo, he comes from Britain, while Eschauer's Austrian, where have neither a Grand Slam nor a Masters series event. So Boggo's Wimbledon Wild Card 5 points will give him the advantage, meaning Eschauer will need to reach the quarters. He'll need to reach the finals to overtake. He did win in Kranj last week, though so it's very possible.
Fraile and Saulnier both need to reach the semis in Genoa to overtake Boggo, finals places will take them past Greg. Unfortunately they're in opposite halves of the draw.
Bozoljac in Donetsk, and Luczak (playing Eschaer tomorrow) in Dusseldorf need to reach the semis to take Boggo and to win to take Greg.
Vinciguerra needs to reach the finals in Genoa for Boggo, and to win for Greg.
Luzzi, Labadze, Behrend and Cakl can all overtake Boggo if they win their tournaments
So, worst case is for Boggo to drop 5 places to 144, 4 down from the start of the USO, and Greg to drop 6 to 139th, 3 down.
Pins into Zib and Eschauer in Dusseldorf and Saulnier in Genoa for tomorrow please!
While it rained in New York, it was fine in Europe.
Eschauer moves level on points with Boggo: if he wins the second round match against Cuadrado, Boggo's back to 140th
Vinciguerra and Armando also advance off the bottom of the table, and Korolev, Berlocq and Portas won ahead of our boys.
Meanwhile, Saulnier and Luczak lost behind Boggo, as did Zib behind Greg. Minar, and Labadze and Behrend (off the bottom) also lost. while Luzzi withdrew.
So, that cuts down the field nicely - especially for Greg. Worst case is for Boggo still to drop 5 places to 144th, and Greg to drop 4 to 137th
Boggo drops two places to 142, 2 down on where he was before the USO
Fraile and Bozoljac overtake.
Eschauer draws level with Greg
Vinciguerra, Bolelli, Portas and Cakl (off the bottom) advance. Only Berlocq is knocked out.
Eschauer and Fraile can overtake Greg tomorrow. Vinciguerra can overtake Boggo.
Worst case for Boggo now is to drop another 2 places to 144 if Vinciguerra beats Eschauer in his semi, and Cakl wins in Donetsk. For Greg is to drop 3 places to 136: if Eschauer beats Vinciguerra in his semi, Fraile wins his semi and Bozoljac wins in Genova.

So one of them has definitely lost a place
I think I want greg to lose the place because we all know he's not going to last much longer anyway, whereas Boggo is and for him one or two places can be the difference between getting into a tournament on merit or having to qualify.

unfortunately, it went against Boggo. Viciguerra beat Eschauer. Luckily Cakl got knocked out before he could overtake, so Boggo ends the week down 3at 143.
Meanwhile Greg didn't get off lightly either. Bozoljac won Donetsk and Fraile won his semi in Genova, so Greg drops 2 more places, ending the week up one at 136.
SO no more can affect the boys this week (although Fraile stil has his final to finish (one set all and 3-1 up against Starace), so it's over to Boggo in Orleans, and Greg sitting the week out.
I get the feeling that the Davis cup could be the last time we see Greg. Now that he has withdrawn from Beijing he would need a great run in Bombay (the week after the DC) to keep him in touch with the top 100. I just don't think that Greg has got enough left in him to drag himself back up through the challengers.
