RE: USO pick em predictions competition

I've went for Ginepri to win against Haas (It's going right down to the wire), so that match could be pivotal.  I also can't get anything from the other match.

Talk about a match that could have gone either way! Phew!

Although, Sally could score from both R3 matches left if Haas and Rochus win, putting her on 135 and you on 134, whilst I languish behind on 124.

Safin's been losing me points so far, but seeing this, I'm glad he won today!

Also, if Haas does win, Sally will have all 8 of her predicted Round 4 winners in the draw, whereas, I'll have 6 no matter what.

That's seriously impressive, well done Sally!  7 of my R4 winners were left at the time you wrote that (I lost Djokovic to 'come awwwwwwn' in R2), but I lost Robredo in R4 itself today (as you said later, it's amazing what Youzhny's been doing!) so I'm down to 6. My two SF picks in the bottom half (Rafa and Duckboy) made it to the QFs today though.

In the end, the way the points work, a few points here or there at this stage are hardly going to make any difference in the end - wherever people are in the table now, if they get the two finalists and the winner and nobody else does, they're going to win the competition.

Does that mean it would be a better test to award one point for each match won? Maybe ... after all, even under that system you'd be at a big disadvantage if one of your finalists went out really early. I'm sure those lower down the table won't agree with me though!

Hmm, if Blake doesn't win his 4th round, I'm going to end up with the grand total of 2 picks in the quarter finals. And I think everyone will have picked Fed & Ndal...

My half of the table after Round 4:-

Sally 163
Stew_B 148
Imoen 136
Johnnylad 131
Murrayman650 129
Mkkreuk 128

Although, with Nadal losing in the Q/f, Sally has lost a finallist, and the way things stand, if Federer beats Roddick in the Final, I'll top my half of the draw with 308 points, with Sally either finishing on 307 or 291.  Although, if I wake up tomorrow to find that Roddick's lost to Hewitt... well... I'll get my coat

I was on 170 after R4, with at most two semi-finalists (that's assuming Fed beats Blake) - I've also got Fed beating Duckboy in the Final.

Well I've successfully got DayyD as one semi finalist, and hopefully Fed comes thru as the other one.

Unfortunately, the bottom half hasn't gone to plan .....
