The really great thing about the breaker is that Martin is serving first in this third set!
On another note, does Bohdan have a protected ranking for an injury? He is ranked 750 according to his US Open bio page, and wasn't a wildcard.
Also, wasn't he banned for drugs at one point?
Bohdan was banned from drugs, he tested positive for drugs and served a 2 year ban but of course he has always declared his innocence. He has a protected ranking of 139
Oh no, I hope Martin Lee's ok, he's had so much bad luck with injuries. It's rather bizarre how it happened, I wonder whether he sustained it during the tiebreak and waited until the end before calling the trainer or whether he somehow sustained it during the changeover ??
Martin was forced to retire due to a knee injury which he sustained at the start of the 2nd set but after the tiebreak it was not possible for him to continue.
I hope it's not the same knee injury which has plagued him in the past and kept him out for nearly 2 years.
Then back out to the action. Ulihrach - Martin Lee had just gone to a third set. Lee looks like he more belongs on a rugby field. Anyway, first point of the third set Lee serves a fault, then winces in pain and calls for the trainer because of his knee. Took about 10 minutes to get the trainer there, but he wouldn't treat him since they had started the game. I can't figure out those rules. The trainer was kind of a freaky guy. He got right up into Lee's face and looked at him like he was a boxing referee trying to determine if a fighter was able to continue. Well, a few points later Lee threw in the towel. Ulihrach pretended to be concerned as they shook hands the way a player pretends to be sorry when they win a point on a let cord. Then Lee comes to his chair and slams his racquet to the ground in disgust. That was pretty funny. Oh well, poor guy.
Sounds quite serious I hope not after all the hard work Martin's done to get back to where he is
