Please would someone post the table as I'm away for most of the week so can't update it. If no one has done it or said they will by tomorrow mid-morning I'll post the table but someone else will have to update. Thanks.
Looking at the new haven draw, Tim is in serious danger.
15 people can overtake him this week, not that many will as some meet in the early rounds and the last few of those 15 would all have to win the tournament which isn't possible. So Tim can't lose as many as 15 places but can probably lose near to 10 places or so this week.
I guess we have to look forward and hope that he gets a kind draw in the US Open, and at the very least that he doesn't bump into Andy or Federer in the early rounds.

Here's the table (c) GC77. As for Andy's table, please let me know if I need to change anything.

Well, in Tim's half of the top hundred, Bracciali and Phau (and Melzer in qualies) have already obliged by being knocked out in the first round at New Haven. However, Mahutand Seppi won their R1s and Gicquel and Hajek got through qualifying today, to continue breathing down his neck.
Monday's action includes: number 1 threat Christophe Rochus (needs QF to overtake), Karlovic (semi), Gimelstob(final) and Lopez, Vik, Hajek, Gicquel and Pashanski (win)
plus Matthieu, Fish &Horna from directly above him.
Worst case for Tim now is a drop of four places. A total of 10 players can overtake, but most of them require finals places or to win the tournament to do so, and as a result will knock each other out before they do so.
Apart from those mentioned above, Mahut needs to reach the semis and Seppi needs to reach the final.
Remember to watch out for Rochus & Karlovic today!
Melzer's sneaked in as a lucky loser with Bjorkman withdrawing. He's beaten Lopez, but more importantly can overtake Tim if he gets to the final. Tim's worst case is back to a drop of 2
Well by the end of Tuesday, Tim was down to just two competitors: one who might overtake, and one to keep in his sights.
Melzer as we've said pulled a very late LL out of the bag, and can now overtake if he reaches the final. He's the only threat left who can do so, so worst case is now a drop of one place. He needs to get past Verdasco, Soderling, Baghdatis, Rochus, Monfils, Srichapan and Davydenko.
Ramirez-Hidalgo beat Blake late yesterday() and will now face Malisse in the third round.
Apart from that, though, all seven competitors behind Tim were knocked out, and all four above him in the table were too.
Remarkably, Blake is the only seed to get knocked out of the tournament, so there's a lot of firepower left to tackle the two that made it
Melzer plays Andy Competitor Verdasco in the third round today.
I've no idea what happened to Blake last night, after Washington his game seems to have gone off the boil. Maybe he's been over-playing. He missed 5 match points overall across both tiebreaks and said afterwards that it was inexcusable especially given that some of the mps were on his serve.
I think Tim's ranking will be safe for another week unless Melzer produces some of the performances of his life. Can't see him overcoming the power of Verdasco but if he does, Baghdatis will definately put an end to his chances in the quarters.
