Apparently 229 Eikeri is the final entrant in the women's qualifying and I assume that is before the MDWCs have been removed.

Despite the WC allocation controversies, Gauff looks set to get a MDWC. She is MDO in the quals list and is playing an exhibition against Barty the week of qualifying, so she's pretty much in. Young Parry has the French WC secured, and she is outside the top 300, so that will also affect our borderline players. Like Jubb, the women's NCAA winner was overseas, so that MDWC will likely revert to a 'normal' one, there's also a MDWC reserved for the U18 USTA National champion which starts on Saturday, but not sure if anyone from circa 104-230 will be entered, so that might be another WC going to someone behind Naiktha and Katie S.

Katie Boulter wasn't listed in the players who have not entered so looks set to play, but then is also down for Landisville before quals, so that's probably not a surprise.

If we assume 5 MDWCs will be from those in the current Q list and need to come out, and assuming everyone from Eikeri to Swan have entered, Naiktha should just sneak in with her 233 ranking and Katie's 240 would see her roughly 6 out (depending on the aforementioned WC situation), and would then be relying on withdrawls.

It'll become clearer when the official lists are out, but a good gauge for now.

I spent ages looking for the lists of the women's main draw and qualies entrants, but couldn't find them anywhere - have you managed to find something Ace, and if so, please could you direct me to wherever it is that you got the info?

If there isn't anything official, does anyone know which of our players are likely to be in the main draw and who are likely to be in the qualies. Katie Swan and Naiktha must be very close to the cut off point for the qualies I'd have thought, and not sure whether Heather is in the main or qualifying draw either?

By the way, I started reading the posts from the first page, and apart from your last post, they all relate to 2006. Could we start a new section on the US qualies maybe? The Wimbledon wildcards had the same problem - thousands of posts from several years.

Yeah, Peter's link is where I got that info from Andy. Nothing official has come out which I am surprised about, and the following charts on that page are just guess work based on previous information, but the poster Spiceboy is always absolutely spot on with his info, as he used to have a players Ipin list and still has access to it, so if he says Eikeri is last in at 229, then it'll be right. Naiktha will probably get in after WCs and other withdrawals are removed, but I think Katie S will be too far out unfortunately.

Thanks for that link Tyke Army, and welcome to the board.

So it confirms that Eikeri was indeed the last acceptance at 229, but doesn't really tell us anything we didn't know. It would have been nice if the US Open actually released an official list, after all it is over a week since the cut off, with the alternatives, so that we knew exactly how far Katie S was out. If we assume everyone from 230 to 240 where Katie was ranked last week entered, then there are 10 in front of her, plus anyone possibly using PR with that ranking.

There will still be MDWCs to take out, because surely Caty McNally will get one, but the likes of Gauff was MDO as mentioned a couple of posts back. From the info we have, I'd still say Naiktha will get in after withdrawals, but Katie won't.

Wimbledon's was much more convenient:

Thanks I dont know much about tennis but I'm sure I'll learn and have enjoyed reading this forum.

I'm a simple Yorkshire lad and it's been great to see top players like Kyle and Paul Jubb from Yorkshire, not sure what the top Yorkshire ladies players are currently?

Tara Moore and Fran Jones are probably the best known, but Naiktha Bains is from Leedsand has recently returned to GB from Australia

Just to expand a little bit further Andy. Heather is currently 7 off getting in directly, and in this day in age, where you can collect half prize money for turning up (which I don't blame), you are unlikely to get significant withdrawals prior to the qual draw - you're far more likely to see players withdraw late and lots of LL spots opening up, like Wimbledon, where there were 3, so Hev is pretty much nailed on to have to go through quals, which she managed last year. By my reckoning, Naitktha should just about sneak into quals, joining Heather, Harriet and Katie B.

Regarding the thread, I just bumped it up for a bit pre quallie discussion. When the Q draw is made in about 10 or so days, I'm sure there will be an official thread with the listed matches and rankings and what not, and then probably a seperate thread a week later for the main draw.
