It was a really tight match, Lipsky served extremely well, didn't face a single break point. They really attacked Martin's serve though which paid off. Colin and Jamie led 2-0 in the champions tiebreak but some big shots from Lipsky and 4 unforced errors cost them the next 8 points and the match was out of their reach.
I think that Colin may be playing with Parmar this week as the cut-off for the Bronx main draw is 283. Colin and Jamie have a combined ranking of 316 so they would have missed out. Instead of waiting to see if they'd get a wc, maybe Jamie decided to make sure that he'd get in the draw by asking Capdeville to play [they've played together before I think] and ditched Colin. Arv would have still been around last night waiting to see if there were any lucky loser spots and as they played together at Manchester, Colin probably asked him.
They were very lucky to get a wildcard, there must have been no other Americans who applied for it.
I'll try and find out for sure what happened from Colin
