Andy....look at the stats for just the second set...this set is a lot closer than the score indicates...Tim has to dig deep here and shake off those match points as neither of them are serving great.....he can't lose his serve here....

I don't think he is giving him anything....just that Gambill is either playing better or Tim is struggling...I think it is prob Gambill playing better....just being able to relax out there....no pressure just a LL with getting thrashed....break point....

30-40, now 40-40 Tim just saved two break points there.....

Was that 15-40?  I was typing and not watching....

Match Point....

Thank you both for the excellent commentary. Well done Tim, now just to beat Tursunov. He did it at Queens, I'm sure he can/will do it again this evening

Thanks so much for the commentary Doug and Rob, was really great to read it through this morning. I woke up just as Henman was serving for the match, was kicking myself for missing it.

Looks like impressive stuff from Henman, though 2nd set could have been very interesting if Gambill had broken back when Henman served for it.

Speaking afterwards Tim said:
"I got off to a good start and didn't allow him back into the match. Overall I'd liked to have got a few more first serves in. I felt I was hitting it well enough that when I did it was effective.

"This allowed me to attack his serve and I played the break points well in the first set and had a few chances in the second; had I taken them I could have won the match even sooner.

"Having not played competitively for a while it's nice to get a couple of matches under my belt at the beginning of the week but now the tournament really starts all over again."
