RE: Andy's Competitors Week 31: Washington etc..

Murray regardless of what happens here on in, will have a career high ranking come monday. He is currently at 33, could fall to 34 at worst, or rise to 27 at best.

Table updated for all the quarter fnal results.

We need Safin to lose to Clement or he will overtake Greg.

We also need Mayer and Calleri to lose, only thing is they are playing one another. If Mayer wins he will overtake Tim, if Calleri does he will overtake Andy but only if Andy loses against Tursunov. So, my advice is get rid of Mayer, and hope Andy wins!

That's it for the pin work today, so add Tursunov to the list, we don't want him beating Andy!!

The Revised Pessimists post:

Greg, who's already lost one place could lose another place (was 2 yesterday), dropping to 73rd overall. Safin can overtake if he reaches the final.

Tim, who's gained 5 places so far, can lose one place, dropping to 60th if Mayer reaches the final.

If Andy goes out in the Semi- finals

Andy would not gain more places, but could lose a maximum of 1, to drop to 34th. Calleri  can overtake if he reaches the final. (a net gain of 1 place from last week)

If Andy makes it to the final

Andy would gain 2 more (Grosjean, Bjorkman), then could lose a maximum of 1, to gain a min of 1 to 32. Calleri can overtake if he wins Sopot.

If Andy wins the tournament

Andy would gain 5, to 28th!

The revised Optimists post

Greg loses no more places, leaving him at 71st, a drop of only one place this week.

Tim remains where he is, a rise of 5 places from last week and a return to the top 60 at 59th.

Andy wins the tournament, and rises to 28th a career high, an almost certain seeding at the US open and his first venture into the top 30.

The good thing is that they are both clay courters so should fall away hopefully in the next few weeks....

Mayer wins his match against Calleri , delayed reaction on the pins perhaps!

So Tim falls back one place to end the week at 60 in the world. He can no longer be overtaken or move up...until next week!

It is good that Calleri loses for Andy who can now end the week with a minimum of a 2 place rise.

Don't forget to pile the pins into Safin, the only remaining threat to any of the Brits sitting pretty behind Greg. Also, of course into Tursunov so that Andy advances!

It will be far to big now so i think you should do say 20-40 in the rankings and then a section for Tim and Greg.

Looking at the ranking points you might have to extend upto 15-40 especially given that the points will be higher as they are masters (and of course andy will win back to back masters series to go with his washington title )

I'm about to start making my table for next week so will decide how to split it. I'll put the Tim/Greg thread in the Tim/Greg discussion forum.

Final Table on page 1. Andy remains at a career high of 31. You still feel like he should have broken in to the top 30 though.

Imoen can you check for errors, please?
