The table is updated, and displayed above. Hopefully to be moved to the first post by a kind moderator (Grr - I hope the Activeboard people get a move on and fix this "no edit" issue - has anyone else got the same problem?)

Fish, Marach and Lee advance.

No major news among Andy's competitors (Tursunov is out of reach for this week at least!)

A good day for Tim: Number 1 threat, Phau, goes out behind him. Benneteau goes out ahead of him. Unfortunately, Tim can only overtake if he makes the final, and Andy might have something to say about that.

Garcia- Lopez goes out behind Greg. Along with Spadea, Dlouhy and Muller, off the bottom.

Meanwhile Volandri goes further out of Tim's reach, Lopez still needs knocking out if Tim is to overtake and Fish & Monaco are still in the game behind him.  Marach & Lee will threaten Greg if they stay around much longer.

Over To Imoen, to analyse what threats remain, and how to deal with them today.

The Revised Pessimists post:

Greg, who's already lost one place could lose a maximum of another 5 places (was 6 yesterday), dropping to 76th overall. 9 players in the top 100, plus a few more outside can overtake (but they would have to beat each other, so a max of 5 will).

If Tim & Andy go out in Rs 2 or 3: they get no additional points, and so:

Andy could drop a maximum of 2 places to 35th (no change). 2 players can overtake.
Tim could drop a maximum of 4 places to 66th(was 6). 7 players can overtake (was 11).

If Tim & Andy make it to the Quarter- finals.

Andy could drop a maximum of 2 places to 35th (no change). 2 players can overtake.
Tim would gain 3, then could lose a maximum of 4 places, to drop a maximum of 2 (no change) to 65th. 5 can overtake (was 7).

If Tim & Andy make it to the Semi- finals

Andy could drop a maximum of 1 place to 34th. 2 players can overtake (no change).
Tim would gain 4 (was 5), then could lose a maximum of 3 (was 4), to gain a min of 1 (no change)to 61. 5 can overtake (was 6).

If Tim OR Andy make it to the final (they would meet in the semis)

Andy would gain 2, then could lose a maximum of 1, to gain a min of 1 to 32. 2 can overtake (no change).
Tim would gain 8, then could lose a max of 2, to gain a min of 6, to 58th. 2 can overtake (was 5).

If Tim OR Andy win the tournament

Andy would gain 6, then could lose a max of 1. to gain a min of 5, to 28th! 1 can overtake (no change).
Tim would gain 15, then could lose a max of 1, to gain a min of 14, to 48th! 1 can overtake. (no change)

I've updated the first table and deleted the new one from this page.

Right, what to do today:

Andy: chela and Calleri are the only threats but they are both only one match away from overtaking. Both play today so concentrate on them please!

Tim: Phau losing has made a huge difference to Tim's chances this week, however, there are others eager to step into the breach and threaten him, so pins into: Fish and Monaco, the greatest threats.

Greg: Poor greg is suffering being this low in the rankings, as Rob said he is threatened by about 10 people, not all of whom are in the top 100 now . Lets turn our attention to the nearest threats though, in the guise of: Mayer (big time threat, will overtake next match) and Marach (not so near but taking a few scalps this week so potentially dangerous.)

Well, that should be enough to be going with, enjoy the pins!

By the way, the optimists post has not changed since yesterday so I will not update it.

Calleri  on court against Sluiter now.  The pins don't seem to be having much effect so far:
2-2 in the first. Come on Raemon! Time for your annual moment in the spotlight!

Hmmm   The efforts to hex Chela had better work better than this

Calleri  takes the first set, and is 2-0 up in the second. Unless Mr Sluiter ups his game sharpish, Andy's looking at dropping a place in the next half hour or so.

Come on Augustin! don't get greedy. Winning in Austria last week must satisfy you for now. Let the Dutchman have his day!

Andy drops to 34th, as Calleri overtakes, winning 6-4 6-4.

Next up is Monaco for Tim, and Chela for Andy.  Losing Chela  now would be veeeeerrrryyyy good...

Chela wins the first set 6-2 .  Not what we need people - are your voodoo powers on the wane?....now he breaks to go 2-1 up in the second

Even Monaco's managed to take Davydenko to 7-7 in the second set tie- break....8-7* Monaco....Argh!! 9-7 Monaco: 3rd set.

That didn't take long. Chela wins 62 61. Andy back down to 35th

Meanwhile Davydenko's managed to get his act in gear, and leads Monaco 5-1 in the third
