That's a great win for Anne considering that Chan last week qualified for WTA Cincinatti

Anne now plays 20 year old American Neha Uberoi [wr:257] who she has a bit of a history with. They played in rd1 of the 2005 Surbiton challenger and Anne won a bad-tempered match 7-6, 7-6. Anne accused Uberoi of bad-sportmanship due to taking injury time-outs and toilet breaks at key moments and constantly screaming at the umpire. Uberoi refused to shake hands with Keothavong at the end. Uberoi's recent form has been patchy, her best results of the year have been qualfying for WTA Doha and WTA Rabat where she reached rd2.

Just found out that the Keothavong match took place earlier this evening:

Anne raced to an early 4-1 lead but wobbled when serving for it at 5-3 but eventually took the 1st set 7-5. She then lost her focus in the 2nd and lost it 2-6 before regaining her composure and breezing through the 3rd set 6-1.

Anne now faces top seed and world no 104 Camille Pin in the quarters. Pin has been as high as 91 in the world [October 2004]. At the start of July, she reached the final of a 75K challenger. She was thrashed in rd1 of the French Open and Wimbledon this year but reached rd2 of the Aussie Open before losing 6-3, 6-1 to an overweight Serena Williams. She's had little success on the WTA tour this year apart from WTA Bangalore in Feburary where she reached the quarters, beating Sania Mirza along the way.

Anne's already guaranteed to move up to 140 after this tournament but if she beats Pin she'll move to 132.

Anne's match against Pin is later tonight in the small hours. Maybe Doug or Andymonium could do score updates if they're around ?

Scores are found at:

Go to the "match results" page. The scores update every 15-20 minutes approx.

Anne lost 6-1 6-1 to Camille Pin. i thought anne probably play her best, but maybe Pin's in the top 100 so her experience of playing in top challengers is greater. However, good effort in making the quarter finals of a 50k

Shame it wasn't a bit closer, I think it might have been on a faster surface. Pin grew up on clay so she's going to be at her best on slow courts like outdoor hard.

Anne should equal her career best of 140 when the rankings are updated on Monday.
