No, im not a pro player, but i try and play on a regular basis. I used to be coached in a place called St Albans in Hertfordshire. My coach was called Adrian Rowe, he used to play a bit on the future and satalite tour, he managed to get a pro doubles ranking. He apparently met Fulford-Jones at one of the many far out countries, when he went to play a futures tournament. Where did you get Fulford-Jones msn address, how did you know it was really him?
That guy must of seen Lownsbrough play at the Sunderland Challenger, because i think they teamed up there last. 64, 61 isn't such a bad score line.
I read on some news article that Dee is based in the US, but he seems to play a lot in spain, so maybe he is based there as well. He isn't going to senegal this first week, because he is playing in the Spain future qualies again.
Hi, St Albans is not far from where I live. I'm in Letchworth which is about 30min away, the home of Arvind Parmar.
There seems to be quite a lot of ex-players now working as coaches over there and at Gosling. Must be really great. Euan Bulger and Hamed Hejazzi who play for Letchworth and used to be on the futures tour, coach at Gosling and I also hear that Judy Murray is working with players over there, too. Is Guy Thomas a coach at St Albans, or is he Gosling too ?
I know what Greenleaf is thinking but he's not guessed right, I got chatting to Fulford-Jones by accident on BTZ quite a while ago. Only spoke to him about twice on msn but not since, must have changed his email or something.
Oh yeah, you're right it was the sunderland challenger when Bloomers played with Lonwsbrough. Bladetiger says that seeing Adam in doubles doesn't reveal as much about his standard as seeing him in singles. The 5 games which they got was largely due to Bloomers big serve.
I see that Robert Dee has distinguished himself again in futures qualifying this weekend, winning the grand total of 2 games in his rd1 match.
My old coach played guy thomas in a league match apparently and beat him 64, 63. Letchworth, yeh i know where that is, i wanted to become a member of the gosling tennis club, but at the time i was too busy with school work. What did you say yo Fulford-Jones when you spoke to him on msn?
Robert Dee i thought seemed to be doing ok, since buying his new ranking. He had some ok results in Norway. He lost to Giles Kremer 63, 61, which isn't a bad result against him. But recently he has been losing 0 and 1 against, back to his old ways, lol.
Did he, that's an impressive result ! Guy Thomas reached the world's top 50 in juniors and made rd3 of US Open juniors a few years back. He tried to make it in futures on the senior circuit but found that he didn't have the mental toughness which is required day in, day out unfortunately. He's just done for Herts in county week partnering Neil Bamford. His brother James is the top seed for the mens singles at our club, lol He's a level apart from the rest of us !
Yeah, Gosling has great facilities [clay, hard, indoors] and lots of tournaments. Unfortunately I think that the fees are sky high which puts some people off.
When I spoke with Fulford-Jones, I just asked him how he was doing and stuff. That week he was in Mexico and was struggling with flu and was considering whether to head to France for some futures or to stay in South America.
Yeah, I think getting 4 games must have been a career best result for Dee. Unlike Adam and the rest he actually hardly ever gets double bagelled, he must offer his opponents a pint at the end of the match if they let him win a game, lol. Isn't Gilles Kremer the postman from Luxembourg ?
