....And to round things off nicely, Tim's next biggest threat, Kohlschreiber, along with Andy's number 3 threat Massu are both out!

Table updated.

(after a morning in which the message board seemed to be permanently down)

Martin, Djokovic, Calleri, Melzer, Greul  advance.

Lots of threats eliminated: Mathieu, Chela and Mirnyi this morning , Serra and Almagro yesterday for Andy.

Kohlschreiber, Pavel, Garcia-Lopez, Schuettler for Tim & Greg

Today's Competitors

Andy would have dropped a place today had Matthieu won

Massu, Srichapan, Malisse, Simon and Gasquet must lose before the finals of their respective tournaments.

Moya, Martin, Youzhny and  Horna must not win their tournaments. Martin & Horna already won their matches today.

Tim's already lost two places to sit at 62, as Ram-Ham and Calleri overtook on Monday and Tuesday.

Next threats are Mayer and Seppi who must lose before the quarters (today or tomorrow) in Stuttgart, or Tim drops more places

Then come Mahut, Wawrinka and  Muller who must lose before the semis.

For Greg, Mahut and Wawrinka must lose today or he drops places.

Next up are Muller and Greul, who mustn't make the semis.

Bad news:  Greg's just lost a place to Wawrinka, who beat Phau in Stuttgart.

Also, Massu's just won his R2 match, and is through to the quarters in Amersfoort. Just one win away from overtaking Andy again

On the plus side, Gasquet's out to Marach in Stuttgart

Olli Rochus withdrew so is out.

I am sharpening my pins even now - and Mr Djokovic is first in line, hotly followed by Massu!

Table updated for the rest of Wednesday

Mayer, Mahut, Wawrinka, Muller, Greul advance.

A bad day for Greg as both Mahut and Wawrinka overtake.

Threats eliminated: Simon, Gasquet, Youzhny for Andy. (and Vliegen ahead). Seppi for Tim.

Today's Competitors

Djokovic can overtake today, if he beats Zib in Amersfoort.

Srichapan and Malisse must lose before the finals of Indianapolis. They play Goldstein and Tursunov today.

Horna must not win Stuttgart. He plays Zabalata.

Worst case is a 5 place drop to 39th

Tim's next threat is Mayer who must lose today in Stuttgart, or Tim drops another place.

He plays Del Potro. Then come Mahut, Wawrinka and  Muller who must lose before the semis.

Worst case is a 6 place drop to 67th

For Greg, next up are Muller and Greul, who mustn't make the semis.

Worst case is a 6 place drop to 76th

So the biggies today are Djokovic  & Mayer. Sharpen those pins, Mad!

horna plays zabaleta, so it not going to be straightforward for him!

Not looking good for Andy's ranking.....Djokovic took the first set 6-4, and is 3-1 up in the second

Horna's been taken to a third set - leading 5-4

Better news for Tim: Wawrinka was beaten by Ferrer

My pin was obviously not sharp enough for Novak. I shall have to think about chisels.

Andy will have to cope without me for a couple of weeks from early next week, so he had better start winning so pins are not needed!

Acasuso saw off Greul

Now Florian Mayer's on court, and has won the first set 6-1.  Not looking good for Tim's ranking.

Muller & Mahut play in Indianapolis tonight.
